The Diary of an Agonized Lady (Conclusion) - TOTAL FREEDOM!

Bible Texts (Concordant Version of the Old Testament and Concordant Literal New Testament with keywords Concordance-CLNT: John 4:28-34

John 4:28-34

28 The woman, then, leaves her water pot, and came away into the city, and is saying to the men,
29 'Hither! Perceive a Man Who told me all whatever I do. Is not this the Christ?"
30 They, then, came out of the city and came to Him.
31 Now in the meantime the disciples asked Him, saying, "Rabbi, eat."
32 Yet He said to them, "I have food to eat of which you are not aware."
33 The disciples, then, said to one another, "No one brings Him aught to eat."
34 Jesus is saying to them, "My food is that I should be doing the will of Him Who sends Me, and should be perfecting His work.

Have you ever stopped to think about this?

How could the Son of Yahweh—Yeshua, a Judean—travel all the way to Samaria to meet a woman who was considered a nobody?

She was a woman with a painful past. Her life had not turned out the way she probably hoped. She had experienced broken relationships and carried the weight of shame. She was an agonized woman who, by the standards of her society, had little to show for her life.

So, why would Yeshua go out of His way to meet her?

One scriptural answer is found in 1 Timothy 4:10: “Yeshua is the Savior of all humanity.”

Among the people Yeshua came to save was this agonized Samaritan woman.

He Met Her With Grace

There is something else I want you to notice about their conversation.

Yeshua was calm, patient, and compassionate.

The woman made statements that could have easily provoked Him. Yet Yeshua did not insult her. He did not embarrass her in front of His disciples. He did not turn her painful past into a public spectacle. He did not condemn or humiliate her.

Instead, He engaged her heart.

What a lesson for us!

Sometimes people who are hurting do not need another person to remind them of their failures. They need someone who can see beyond their past and help them discover hope again.

That was what Yeshua did.

Why Was His Approach Different?

There is another fascinating point in this story.

The way Yeshua related to this Samaritan woman appears different from how He related to some Judeans. One example is the woman caught in adultery in John 8.

Both of them were ladies. Both had complicated situations. Both needed mercies.

Yet there were differences in how Yeshua dealt with them.

Why?

Have you ever paused to think about that?

The woman caught in adultery was a Judean, while the agonized woman at the well was a Samaritan.

The Samaritans were viewed by many Judeans as a rejected and polluted people because of their mixed ancestry and history. There was deep hostility between Judeans and Samaritans. In fact, the Samaritan woman herself reminded Yeshua of this division when she said, in essence, that Judeans had no dealings with Samaritans.

The book of Ezra also gives us important background to the historical tension surrounding these communities.

So, if there was such deep division between them, why would Yeshua care about a Samaritan woman?

Because He is the Savior of all humanity.

If Yeshua came for everyone, then this woman mattered to Him too.

He Saw Beyond Her Past

This woman was not simply a Samaritan.

She was hurting.

She was carrying emotional wounds. She was living with disappointment, rejection, and the burden of her past. And Yeshua saw all of it.

His conversation with her brought something she desperately needed: love, hope, peace, joy, and forgiveness.

Notice something beautiful about this encounter. Yeshua did not simply focus on what was wrong with her. He revealed what was right about the future He was offering her.

Her past did not have the final word.

Her failures did not define her destiny.

Her shame did not disqualify her from experiencing the grace of Yahweh.

Her broken heart could be healed.

Her future could still be bright.

What a beautiful picture of salvation!

The Food Yeshua Was Talking About

Earlier, Yeshua had told His disciples that He had food to eat that they knew nothing about.

I believe this encounter helps us understand what He meant.

Yeshua was on a mission.

He came to minister to wounded hearts.

He came to bring hope to the hopeless, joy to the brokenhearted, forgiveness to sinners, and salvation to humanity.

While His disciples were thinking about physical food, Yeshua was focused on something much greater—the restoration of people.

And this agonized woman became part of that mission.

From Agonized to Evangelist

Can you imagine what happened after that encounter?

I can almost picture this woman walking back into her community with a completely different expression on her face.

Perhaps the woman who once walked with shame was now walking with joy.

The woman who once tried to avoid people was now running toward them.

The woman who came to the well carrying a water jar left it behind and went to tell others about the man she had encountered.

She could not contain her joy!

She had met with Yeshua.

She had encountered someone who knew everything about her and yet did not reject her.

She went back to her community and said, in essence, “Come and see the man who told me everything I have ever done.”

What a transformation!

The woman who came to the well carrying the weight of her past left carrying a message of hope.

Her chains were broken. According to John 8:36, if ever, then, the Son should be making you free, you will be really free. This freedom is priceless!

Her shame no longer controlled her.

Her broken heart had found hope.

And what started as a personal encounter became a community-wide testimony.

In a sense, this agonized woman organized a great crusade in her own community. She brought people to Yeshua, and many of them eventually believed because of Him.

What a miracle—from the inside out!

Maybe This Is Your Story Too

Perhaps you can relate to this woman.

Maybe you are carrying the weight of something that happened in your past.

Maybe you have experienced rejection, disappointment, broken relationships, failure, shame, or deep emotional pain.

Maybe you have wondered whether Yahweh still cares about you.

Let the story of this Samaritan woman remind you of something:

Your past does not make you worthless.

Your failures do not make you invisible to Yahweh.

Your brokenness does not prevent Yeshua from finding you.

The same Yeshua who went looking for an agonized woman in Samaria is still the Savior of humanity.

I pray that Yeshua brings that same experience of love, hope, peace, joy, forgiveness, and restoration to everyone who is experiencing bitterness or brokenness of heart.

May He heal what has been wounded, restore what has been lost, and give you hope for a brighter future.

I sincerely hope this series has blessed you.
