God’s grace and Mercy: Our daily bread

Bible Texts (Concordant Version of the Old Testament and Concordant Literal New Testament with keywords Concordance-CLNT

Matthew 6:11

11 Our bread, our dole, be giving us today.

Lamentations 3:22-23

22 It is by Yahweh’s benignities that we have not come to end, that His compassions are not finished;
23 They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness;

Hebrew 4:16

16 We may be coming, then, with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may be obtaining mercy and finding grace for opportune help.

I remember growing up, there was a television program that aired every Sunday on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). It was called Sunday-Sunday Tonic.

There was something special about it. One of the broadcasters had a way of introducing it that made it feel so lively and welcoming. It brought stories and events from across the country right into our living room.

For me, it wasn’t just a show—it was a moment. I used to sit with my father every Sunday evening to watch it. It was fun, educational, and honestly, something I looked forward to all week.

Gospel of Matthew 6:11

That memory reminds me of something deeper—our need for daily connection and provision. As humans, we are limited, and we need help beyond ourselves. That’s why Yeshua taught His disciples how to pray.

He made it clear that Yahweh is not just His Father, but our Father too. And as His children, we depend on Him for our “daily bread.”

Now, daily bread isn’t just about food. It’s everything we need to live well—peace of mind, strength, opportunities, provision, favor, grace, protection, and even joy.

Think about how children trust their parents. They don’t worry about where the food is coming from—they just know it will be there. That’s the kind of trust we’re invited to have with Yahweh.

Book of Lamentations 3:22–23

One of the most comforting truths is this: Yahweh’s mercy is new every single day.

The writer of this passage really understood that. No matter how inconsistent we can be, Yahweh remains steady. His love doesn’t run out. His compassion doesn’t wear thin.

Let’s be honest—if we were in His position, we might pick and choose who deserves blessings. But Yahweh doesn’t operate that way. He continues to show kindness, even when we fall short. That’s what makes His love so powerful.

Epistle to the Hebrews 4:16

This is one of my favorite scriptures because it gives us such a beautiful invitation—we can come boldly to Yahweh.

Not once. Not occasionally. But continually.

We’re invited to approach His throne of grace anytime we need mercy, help, or strength. And here’s the amazing part: that throne is not a place of judgment for His children—it’s a place of acceptance.

It’s where your mistakes don’t define you.
It’s where forgiveness is available.
It’s where grace meets you right where you are.

And grace isn’t just a nice idea—it’s the power that helps you grow, improve, and keep moving forward in life.

So here’s a simple encouragement: keep coming to your Father.

He may dwell in heaven, but He is closer than you think. Through faith, you already have access to Him. Yes, honor Him—but don’t be afraid of Him. He is your Father, just as Yeshua said.

Don’t let the enemy distract you or rob you of what Yahweh has made available to you daily. Go to Him—today, tomorrow, and every single day.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this week’s blog.

I’m really excited about what’s coming next—a 3-week series filled with powerful and dramatic insights that will make you reflect on how Yahweh works in the affairs of our lives through His grace.

Have a blessed week ahead.
Grace and peace.
