A typical fig tree in the third stage of life cycle.
Yeshua’s
kingdom: Time/season or era (part 1)
Bible
Texts (Concordant Version of the Old Testament and Concordant Literal New
Testament with keywords Concordance-CLNT: Acts
1:4-8 and Matthew 24:32-39
Matthew
24:32-39:
32
"Now from the fig tree learn a parable: Whenever its bough may already be
becoming tender, and the leaves sprouting out, you know that summer is near.
33 Thus you, also, whenever you may be perceiving all these things, know that
He is near-at the doors.
34 "Verily, I am saying to you that by no means may this generation be
passing by till all these things should be occurring.
35 Heaven and earth shall be passing by, yet My words may by no means be
passing by.
36 Now, concerning that day and hour no one is aware, neither the messengers of
the heavens, nor the Son; except the Father only.
37 "For even as the days of Noah, thus shall be the presence of the Son of
Mankind.
38 For as they were in those days before the deluge, masticating and drinking
and marrying and taking in marriage until the day on which Noah entered into
the ark,
39 and did not know till the deluge came and takes them all away, thus shall be
the presence of the Son of Mankind.
Acts
1:4-8
4
And, being foregathered, He charges them not to be departing from Jerusalem,
but to be remaining about for the promise of the Father, "which you hear
of Me,
5 seeing that John, indeed, baptizes in water, yet you shall be baptized in
holy spirit after not many of these days."
6 Those, indeed, then, who are coming together, asked Him, saying, "Lord,
art Thou at this time restoring the kingdom to Israel?"
7 Yet He said to them, "Not yours is it to know times or eras which the
Father placed in His own jurisdiction.
8 But you shall be obtaining power at the coming of the holy spirit on you, and
you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in entire Judea and Samaria,
and as far as the limits of the earth."
This
week’s blog discusses another important topic about the time and season. When Yeshua's followers were curious about his kingdom, he used a parable to
express himself on this issue. He simply used a fig tree. Yeshua understood
what was written in Ecclesiastes 3:1 that for everything there is a stated
time, and a season for every event under the heavens. There is time for
everything.
According
to greengardner.com, a fig tree has its own life cycle. This
begins with Winter season. All time in this season, the plant will be recuperating
and will be gathering energy deep in its roots for the season ahead. This is
also the preparative stage for other stages to come. The next stage comes when it is spring season. The time in this season enables fig trees to bud and
sprout tender leaves. It is the sign of a new life for the plant as the tree
enjoys a bit of warmth and some rain. The next stage is in summer season. The tree enjoys more warmth from the sun. The time of this season enables fig trees to
focus its energy on producing fruits. The last stage of the cycle is fall/autumn
season. In this season, it is the right time to harvest fruits from fig trees. Then, the
plant will go back to rest for the next season to come (Winter).
You
may be wandering why Yeshua had to use fig tree to describe the season and time
for his coming. He used this illustration to make his audience have visual
understanding of the season and time he would show up. However, he did not
mention the day or year but he provided the clues. These clues are time/season or
era. He discussed the time of Noah and Lot for examples. Please, read these in Matthew 24 for details.
He
stated in Matthew 24 that this generation will not pass by (for this event to
happen). This does not imply the year or days, but time/season or era. Not eras.
This same era has been spanning from the time Noah and his family left the ark
after flood. In this era, many times have come. The time of Nimrod, Abraham, Joseph,
Moses, David, Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel, Cyrus, Alexander, Yeshua, Paul, John, A. Hitler,
Ghandi, Washington, B. Napoleon, Awolowo, Sankara, Mandela, M. Thatcher, M. Gorbachev,
J. Nyerere, M. Gadhafi among other notables who had lived under the same season/era.
They all lived in different times but are in the same era/season we currently
live.
One of the things we need to take out of this week’s blog is that Yeshua kept mentioning
time/seasons as found in Matt 24:32 and Acts 1:4-8. It means all have been
planned before they happen. There is no haphazard event that is not in Yahweh’s
plan for humanity. Nothing happens accidentally. There is time in the season for each event to happen. This time cannot be forced or enforced by anyone to make it happen. It has to happen as planned by Yahweh.
Yahweh needs all people to repent of their sins before he let his son shows
up. Please, do not be in this school of thought. He does not need this to happen. Humans’ behaviors are not the
reason for Yahweh’s line of action. He is simply waiting for the right time
just like any farmer has to wait for the right season and time to harvest his
crops.
To
the true believers, the current events happening in the world should not frighten
us but to remind us of the scriptures coming to fulfilment. So, when we see all that are happening,
we should understand that it is getting to the time of our deliverance. If
Yeshua could mention that a tree’s life cycle is important, remember that this
world has its own life cycle.
We
are getting to the time of harvest. So, get excited!
I
will continue with this topic next week by the special grace of God.

ReplyDeleteAs a child of god season and time is very important in life.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking time to read this week's blog.
DeleteSo um I do not really understand this even though I have read this multiple times.
ReplyDeletePlease, be more specific the part(s) you do not understand. Thanks.
DeleteSo i have read the part that I did not understand about the fig tree and I understand it.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Now can you see that Yeshua used fig tree as a parable to explain the process of times in each season, especially for the time of his coming. Yeshua knows we are in this era/season. This era has many times inside it. The time he would show up is not known to anyone except his father. However, we are in the season of his coming.
