Imagine an intelligent 12 year old boy conversing with great intellects in the temple. What could beat that intelligence?
Yahweh
and Yeshua (Part 3): YESHUA’S position with HIS EARTHLY PARENTS
Luke 1: 30-35;
Luke 2:40-52
Luke
1:30-35
30
And the messenger said to her, "Fear not, Miriam, for you found favor with
God.
31 And lo! you shall be conceiving and be pregnant and be bringing forth a Son,
and you shall be calling His name Jesus.
32 He shall be great, and Son of the Most High shall He be called. And the Lord
God shall be giving Him the throne of David,
33 His father, and He shall reign over the house of Jacob for the eons. And of
His kingdom there shall be no consummation."
34 Yet Miriam said to the messenger, "How shall this be, since I know not
a man?"
35 And answering, the messenger said to her, "Holy spirit shall be coming
on you, and the power of the Most High shall be overshadowing you; wherefore
also the holy One Who is being generated shall be called the Son of God.
Luke 2:40-52
40
Now the little Boy grows up and was staunch in spirit, being filled with
wisdom, and the grace of God was on Him.
41 And His parents went year by year into Jerusalem, to the festival of the
Passover.
42 And when He came to be twelve years old, at their going up into Jerusalem
according to the custom of the festival,
43 and finishing the days, at their return the Boy Jesus remains behind in
Jerusalem, and His parents know it not,
44 Now, inferring that He is in the caravan, they came a day's way, and they
hunted Him among the relatives and those known to them.
45 And, not finding Him, they return into Jerusalem, hunting Him.
46 And it occurred, after three days they found Him in the sanctuary, seated in
the midst of the teachers, hearing them, as well as inquiring of them.
47 Now amazed are all those hearing Him at His understanding and answers.
48 And perceiving Him, they were astonished. And His mother said to Him,
"Child, why do you thus to us? Lo! your father and I painfully sought
you."
49 And He said to them, "Why is it that you sought Me? Had you not
perceived that I must be among the things which are My Father's?"
50 And they do not understand the declaration which He speaks to them.
51 And He descended with them and came into Nazareth, and was subject to them.
And His mother carefully kept all these declarations, parleying them in her own
heart.
52 And Jesus progressed in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
Many
Christians do have misconceptions concerning Yeshua and Yahweh. Yeshua had
mentioned about the union and the difference between him and his father as
found in few of many scripture passages we read.
Yahweh
is Yeshua’s father. Yeshua is the first born of Yahweh. Through Yeshua, all
other things were made (John 1:2-3). All things were made for Yeshua according
to Colossians 1:16-20. So, in creation, Yahweh and his son were in charge if it. Once again, through Yeshua, all other things were created. This includes but not limited to other elohim (celestial beings), humans, animals, visible and non-visible things). I hope this brief explanation is clear enough for you.
This week’s
blog also aim to address the notion that Yeshua was born of parents
like any other human. Some have also mocked the existence of Yeshua as the only
begotten son of Yahweh. This week, you would learn how Yeshua drew the line between
his earthly father and his heavenly father.
Let
me remind you briefly on the birth of Yeshua. Yeshua in his spirit came into Mary’s
womb (Matthew 1:18 and Luke 1:35) and was born as a human. The Angel of Yahweh
mentioned that the spirit of the Yeshua would overshadow Mary to conceive a baby.
The Angel further informed Mary that this son would be called the child of the Most High.
This is why last week’s blog discussed
that Yahweh and Yeshua are both spirits and are holy.
In
Luke 2:49, Yeshua further clarified that Joseph was not his true father but
Yahweh. You may be wondering what manner of response Yeshua gave to his earthly parents. Three days past
and his earthly parents could not see him. They were panicking and went back to
Jerusalem to find him. After some hours of thorough search, he was found in the
temple with elderly teachers. Yeshua was engrossed in his conversation with
these people not knowing that his parents were devasted when they realized that
he was not with them on their journey back to Nazareth.
When
he was found, he simply asked them why was he being looked for. You may not
expect such a question from a twelve-year-old son to his parents. He further
responded to them that he should be on his “father’s business”. Which
father? I expected both Mary and Joseph to ask Yeshua this question. However,
they did not! They simply understood what Yeshua was saying. You
may be wondering how he got to know. I believe, his mother must have been
telling him how she got pregnant in a strange manner. So, they were not
questioning him. At the same time, they were surprised at Yeshua’s response. They were not expecting such response from the young Yeshua. They probably thought Yeshua still needed more time to grow up before he could embark on such huge task. However, they did not rebuke him. They understood that he was telling them the truth most especially, Mary because of her encounter with Angel Gabriel in Luke chapter 1.
Since
then, Yeshua had been referring to his heavenly father as found in Matthew 6:9;
John 10:30; John 14:6; John 19:30; Luke 23:46; John 6:44 among many other
scripture passages.
Beyond
any reasonable doubt, Yeshua had made it clear that he was not born of the
relationship between earthly parents (father and mother) but through a divine visitation of the spirit of
Yeshua and a lowly lovely and beloved damsel virgin Mary. Indeed, with Yahweh, nothing shall be
impossible. Afterall, there have been many stories of Greeks and Yoruba (among many others) concerning demi-gods and these were not contested with. Why should people find it difficult to believe the account of Yahweh's plan to atone the world of their sins through his son, Yeshua? There are many scriptures that align with this from Genesis to Revelation. I believe this should not be contested either. Should it?
I
hope this week’s blog has blessed you too.
Shalom!
