He died like a sheep brought to his shearers... (Isaiah 53:7). In this picture are Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus who buried him (John 19:38-40) in the tomb. The hidden followers came out to show their last respect for this lambkin.

Did Yeshua die like any human being?

Daniel 9:26(a); Matthew 27:50; John 19:30; 1 Peter 1:17-21; Romans 8:11

Daniel 9:26 (a)

26 After the sixty-two sevens, Messiah shall be cut off, and there will be no adjudication for Him.

Matthew 27:50:

50 Now Jesus, again crying with a loud voice, lets out the spirit.

John 19:30:

30 When, then, Jesus took the vinegar, He said, "It is accomplished!" And reclining His head, He gives up the spirit.

Romans 8:11:

11 Now if the spirit of Him Who rouses Jesus from among the dead is making its home in you, He Who rouses Christ Jesus from among the dead will also be vivifying your mortal bodies because of His spirit making its home in you.

1 Peter 1:17-21:

17 And if you are invoking the Father, Who is judging impartially according to each one's work, you may behave, for the time of your sojourn, with fear,
18 being aware that not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, were you ransomed from your vain behavior, handed down by tradition from the fathers,
19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a flawless and unspotted lamb,
20 foreknown, indeed, before the disruption of the world, yet manifested in the last times because of you, who through Him are believing in God,
21 Who rouses Him from among the dead and is giving Him glory, so that your faith and expectation is to be in God.

To most bible readers, Yeshua died. The scriptures pasted above support this truth. These are just few of the scriptures that established this truth. However, some people believe otherwise and they have their sources too. For me, I prefer to uphold the scriptures which discussed the events before the birth of Yeshua, his life time, his death and his resurrection.

To address all sceptics on this issue, this matter would be discussed briefly this week. Did Yeshua really die like any human being? Did he pretend to die and was later saved from the crucifixion tree? Did his disciples take him away from the crucifixion tree and buried him somewhere nobody can find? Did he actually die and never resurrected? Was the evidence provided by some researchers true even though the scriptures said otherwise?

Most bible readers may not have thorough solution on this issue. Some are sitting on the fence while some are far from being correct.

I have heard many Christians saying God cannot die. So, if you ask them, why did Yeshua die, they get confused. They do not know the difference between Yeshua and Yahweh. This issue would be discussed in the next 2 weeks. However, let me focus on this week’s issue. It is my hope that after you have read this week's blog, you do not have to sweep it under carpet anymore.

According to Revelation 13:8, Yeshua was slain prior the disruption of this world. In other words, prior the creation of this world, Yeshua had been sacrificed for this world. So it had been planned by Yahweh to get his son crucified in real life before this world was created to redeem the world from their sins (even before the people in the world begin to commit sins). To fast forward, Angel Gabriel informed Daniel in Daniel 9:26 that the Messiah (Yeshua) would be cut-off (crucified) not because of his fault but to fulfil the scriptures.

These prophecies were fulfilled in the book of Matthew 27:50 and John 19:30. Yeshua had his last breath and died. He was buried in the sepulcher prepared originally by Joseph of Arimathea for his own death (Matthew 27:57-60). John 19:30 explicitly mentioned that Yeshua yielded his spirit. He died just like any human being would. He was buried just like any human being would.

Why is it that some Christians and some bible readers have concluded that Yeshua did not die? Why do they believe that he just went straight to hell/hades to confront Satan to take the key of death and hades from him.  While these bible readers have the book of 1 Peter chapter 3 as one of their pieces of evidence, they are missing some important steps taken by Yeshua before he descended to the underground to take the keys of death and hades. I intend to discuss this further next week. So, my answer to these kinds of people is no. Would it take 3 days for Yeshua to do what he had to do in hades? I believe 3 days are too much for him. He could do it in less than 1 day.

So, what happened to him during the three days? I believe you would like to know. My simple answer to you is that he died! He slept for 3 days. Yeshua informed people in Matthew 12:40 that as Jonah was in the belly of the fish for 3 days and 3 nights so he would be in hearth of the earth. That means he would be buried for 3 days. Therefore, this settles it.

Peter confirmed the death and resurrection of Yeshua. He mentioned that he was resurrected by his father (Yahweh) in 1 Peter 1:17-21. If Yeshua was not dead, he would not need to be resurrected. He died just like any human. Remember that in Luke 23:46, Yeshua committed his spirit unto his father. So, his father vivified on the third day. To vivify means to make alive from the dead. Yahweh did this to Yeshua.

In conclusion, Yeshua died and he did nothing in hades for 3 days. Yahweh connected all dots right from Genesis through Revelation. Yeshua was resurrected by his father to perform the rest duties which would be discussed with you next week.

I hope this has helped you to know the truth about Yeshua’s death.

Grace and Peace!

  1. Praise Yahweh who always stick to his words (Isaiah 55:10-13). He never let his son saw corruption . He let his son stayed in the hades for long.
