"Endeavor to present yourself to God qualified, an unashamed worker, correctly cutting the word of truth" 2 Timothy 2:15.

Where do DEAD people go? (part 2)

John 11:21-27

21 Martha, then, said to Jesus, "Lord, if Thou wert here, my brother would not have died.
22 But even now I am aware that whatsoever Thou shouldst be requesting of God, God will be giving to Thee."
23 Jesus is saying to her, "Your brother will be rising."
24 Martha is saying to Him, "I am aware that he will be rising in the resurrection in the last day."
25 Jesus said to her, "I am the Resurrection and the Life. He who is believing in Me, even if he should be dying, shall be living.
26 And everyone who is living and believing in Me, should by no means be dying for the eon. Are you believing this?"
27 She is saying to Him, "Yes, Lord, I have believed that Thou art the Christ, the Son of God, Who is coming into the world."

Ecclesiastes 9:5-6

5 For the living know that they shall die, But the dead know nothing whatsoever; There is no further reward for them; Indeed remembrance of them is forgotten.
6 Both their love and their hate as well as their jealousy have perished already, And there is no further portion for them for the eon In all that is done under the sun.

I hope last week’s blog gives you an opened eyes to the situation on what happens to those who die.

As promised, the dialogue between Yeshua and Martha will be discussed.

The was the dialogue according to the scripture:

Ø  In Martha’s mind, Yeshua was too late to attend to Lazarus. So, she implied in her statement that had Yeshua showed up on time, Lazarus would have not died.

Ø  Yeshua’s response to her did not correspond with Martha’s statement. He told her that Lazarus would come back to life because he is the resurrection and life.

Ø  Martha did not understand Yeshua’s response. Apparently, the two were not communicating.

Ø  In Martha’s confusion, she went further to say that she believed Lazarus would resurrect on the last day. Wait a minute! Did she say that? Yeah. What does she mean by this? This statement clarifies that the dead remain sleeping until the resurrection day. It also further established the truth found in Daniel 12:2. The dead will be resurrected on the last day.

Ø  Yeshua’s response was still not making sense to Martha when he reminded her that he had already told her that Lazarus would come back to life. I am sure Martha would be thinking that this was practically impossible. She would think Yeshua was not making sense.

Ø  In the long run, Yeshua proved to Martha what he meant (about being the resurrection and life) when Lazarus was brought back to life in her presence. Martha then understood what Yeshua was telling her.

Ø  He chipped-in a subliminal message there that those who believe him would not die for eon. He was referring to his future reign. Those who believe him will be alive during his reign. Those who do not, will remain dead throughout the 1,000 reigns of Christ.

Ø  The bottom line of their conversation is that Martha pretty well understood that those who die sleep. They will wait until they are resurrected on the last day. Yeshua informed her that he can even make an exception for Lazarus to be alive again. Lazarus came back to life but he eventually died after many years of living. He is waiting to be resurrected in the last day just like anyone that dies.

Lies from Christians' pulpits:

Ø  It is hypocritical to see that many preachers who read all bible chapters mentioned above still continue to say that those who die go to Heaven. This is rather pathetic. They are raising hope of the grieved falsely. They keep singing that those who die should keep sleeping in the bosom of Christ the Lord, but preach otherwise.

Ø   They love to preach the story of Lazarus in John chapter 11 but do not catch the subliminal messages in this scripture, especially the dialogue between Yeshua and Martha. They need to focus on the conversation between Yeshua and Martha for more emphasis on what happens to those who die.

I hope this week’s blog has blessed you.

Please, look forward to read more next week by Yahweh’s grace.

Grace and Peace.
