This former blindman was persecuted for believing in Yeshua. He was sent out of the Church for his faith. Will you beg to come back or leave for good?
The Blind man's
controversy (part 5)
Bible Texts
(Concordant Version of the Old Testament and Concordant Literal New
Testament with keywords Concordance (Main text: John 9:24-34)
24 A second time,
then, they summon the man who was blind, and they say to him, "Give the
glory to God. We are aware that this man is a sinner."
25 He, then,
answered, "If He is a sinner, I am not aware of it. One thing I am aware
of, that, being blind, at present I am observing."
26 They said,
then, to him, again, "What does he do to you? How does he open your
eyes?"
27 He answered
them, "I told you already, and you do not hear. Why again are you wanting
to hear? Not you also are wanting to become His disciples?"
28 Now they
revile him and said, "You are a disciple of that man, yet we are disciples
of Moses.
29 We are aware
that it was to Moses that God has spoken. Yet this man -- we are not aware
whence he is."
30 The man
answered and said to them, "For in this is the marvelous thing, that you
are not aware whence He is, and He opens my eyes!
31 We are aware
that God is not hearing sinners, but if anyone should be a revere of God and
doing His will, him He is hearing.
32 From out of
the eon it is not heard that anyone opens the eyes of one born blind.
33 Except this
Man were from God, He could not be doing anything."
34 They answered
and say to him, "You were wholly born in sins, and you are teaching
us!" And they cast him out.
Have you ever wondered why Yeshua kept himself
away from the Pharisees and Sadducees? He did this to keep the truth from them.
Otherwise, they will hijack the truth and become the unnecessary “middlemen” of
salvation. I hope to write more on this topic in the future. Yeshua kept
himself away from the Pharisees and Sadducees to let his miracle speaks for him
according to this week’s scripture. In many other events, Yeshua spoke with
them in parables so that they will not understand the truth. Example of this can be found in John chapter 2:19-22;
John 8:1-the end; Mark 4:10-13; Mark 4:34 to mention a few.
One major thing you should note in this conversation
according to this week’s scripture passage is the word, “awareness”. To be
aware of something enables you to have a knowledge of that thing. The Pharisees
and Sadducees were not aware of the truth. So, they behaved as people that were
spiritually blind. This former blindman just started to see physically but he
was able to see way beyond the so-called religion leaders of Jews. These
Pharisees perceived Yeshua as a nobody because he did not align with them.
Yeshua did not regard these people because he knew their hearts. This particular
event is another example of how God deals with his creations in both relative
and absolute sense.
It was time for this former blindman to fulfil
his call. His work was evangelism. He professed that Yeshua was not a sinner.
He went ahead to say that Yahweh would not listen to whoever does not do his
will. So, if Yeshua was able to perform such a huge miracle, it means that he
does Yahweh’s will and Yahweh listens to him. At these proclamations, the
Pharisees and Sadducees were angry at him. What they told him made me wonder
why these people had to lead the people of Jews to Yahweh when they were
spiritually blind. They persecuted this man for his faith in Yeshua.
These Pharisees and Sadducees claimed that
they were the followers of Moses. They claimed that Yahweh spoke with Moses but
they did not know where Yeshua came from. This is an indication that they did
not care to know who Yeshua was. They did not realize that it was Yeshua that
spoke with Moses in disguise! (Exodus chapter 33 and 34). Some of you might
think that it was Yahweh. Not, it was Yeshua. No one can see Yahweh (John 1:18).
Yeshua was among the three Elohim in Genesis chapter 18. He was the one that fought with Jacob in
Genesis 32:23-32. He was the one that appeared in the burning fire with the
three Hebrews according to Daniel chapter 3. He has been coming to meet with some
people on earth but he disguises himself in different ways. You see why these
religion leaders were so blind to see? The former blind man even told them that no one
had ever opened the eyes of anyone blind from his/her birth before. Should that
not be enough for them to pause a bit and ponder wisely? Not at all. They found
it difficult to believe because they were spiritually blind. It is not by valor not by vigor...(Zechariah 4:6). Our flesh and blood cannot know who Christ Yeshua is unless he is revealed to us.
Let us pretend that Yeshua had brought this
former blindman to them and asked this man to give offering to them for the
miracles, they might have a regard for him. Let us also pretend that Yeshua
first asked the Pharisees and Sadducees the permission to heal this former
blind man, they might also give regard to him. Let us also pretend that Yeshua
postponed his miracle to Sunday which is the day after Sabbath day, maybe he
would have been regarded as a Sabbath day observer. Guess what? Yeshua did not
give a hoot about these religion leaders. He did not care about what they might
say about him. He knew that they were spiritually blind while they claim that
they see.
The former blind man was standing on his two feet
with the knowledge of the truth which had set him free from the webs and entanglements
of religions (John 8:32). For his truth and proclamation of Yeshua as a Prophet,
he was cast out of the Church! Just like last week’s blog, Yahweh did not create religion. He did not ask anyone to create religion for him. Every single
true Saint/true believer is a temple. Church is the gathering of believers. Corpus
Christi means body of Christ. Not the building. Religion is not spirituality.
It is a system created to control people’s minds. Those who snap out of this
system are spiritually in-tunned with the truth about Yeshua. Yeshua’s behavior
in this scripture shows that he did not care about religion or places of
religion. He cares about doing good work (including Sabbath day) just as his
father had sent him.
I believe this would be one of the happiest
days of the former blind man because he was able to profess the true evangelism
to the hijackers of salvation. This is the reason of his being. He did not
argue with the Pharisees and Sadducees as they called him Yeshua’s disciple. He
thought the Pharisees and Sadducees would like to be Yeshua’s disciples too but
through the response he received, he realized that these people were not on the
same page with him. He was rather content with being Yeshua’s follower than
begging them to reinstate him in the church!
Once again, I hope this week’s blog makes you
ponder more seriously about religion. Having an encounter with Yeshua in up and
close relationship just like this former blind man is priceless. Nobody can convince
this man to go back to the synagogue because he did not find freedom there but
bondage, mind control and lies. It is a place where the blinds lead the blinds
(Matthew 15:14). He has found the truth and he has been set free from that day.
I hope you would like to know what happened next in the next week’s blog.
Grace and Peace.

Yahweh be praised! Open the eyes of your people oh Lord to see the truth beyond religions imposed on them by the system of this world. Amen!
