The fear of what religion leaders would say...

The Blind man's controversy (part 4)

Bible Texts (Concordant Version of the Old Testament and Concordant Literal New Testament with keywords Concordance (Main text: John 9:18-23)

18 The Jews, then, do not believe concerning him, that he was blind and receives sight, till they summon the parents of him who receives sight.
19 And they ask them, saying, "Is this your son, of whom you are saying that he was born blind? How, then, is he observing at present?"
20 His parents, then, answered and say, "We are aware that this is our son and that he was born blind.
21 Yet how he is now observing, we are not aware, or who opens his eyes, we are not aware. Ask him; he has come of age. He will speak concerning himself."
22 These things his parents said, seeing that they feared the Jews, for the Jews had already agreed that if anyone should ever be avowing Him to be Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
23 Therefore his parents say that "He has come of age. Inquire of him."

Greetings to you my dear blog readers.

Last week’s blog discussed the beginning of the evangelism of the former blind man. This was why Yahweh deliberately made him blind until Yeshua met with him. The miracle of eye opening bewildered the Pharisees and Sadducees. They could not wrap their minds around it. They tried to stop this former blindman from proclaiming that the man that opened his eyes was a Prophet. They wanted to spoil his day of joy. They wanted his parents to be in fear of their son’s apparent miracle. This former blindman withstood all stunts pulled against him because the exhilaration of Yahweh was his stronghold (Nehemiah 8:10).  So, they swung into their devilish action on this issue. What did they do?

The Pharisees and Sadducees called on the parents of this former blindman to confirm whether their son was truly blind or not. These Jew leaders wanted to pull the legs of these innocent parents to accuse them of believing Yeshua’s miracle. Prior this moment, the Jew leaders had already informed their congregation to never avow him to be Christ. 1 John 4:15 points to us that whoever believe in Yeshua lives in Yahweh and Yahweh lives in such person. You can deduce from this that Yahweh did not live in these Jew religion leaders because they did not believe in his son, Yeshua to be the Christ (the Anointed).

A thought came into my mind on this issue. I tried to reason it out. Why would these Jew religion leaders not read through the lines about who Yeshua is? Did they not read Isaiah 62:1-2? Are they not the custodians of the Torah and other books of laws, prophets, kings and psalms? Why was Yeshua’s miracles a strange thing to them? As if these Jew religion leaders were possessed, they made sure whoever proclaims Yeshua as Christ to be expelled from their Synagogues. This is what Jew residence were mostly afraid of. To the congregations of this synagogue, they did not want to be cast out of “God’s” presence. They believed in their religion leaders while their faith in Yahweh was very doubtful.

The parents of this former blindman truly confirmed the identity of their son but could not proclaim of the miracle their son had received from Yeshua because of the fear of the instructions of their religion leaders.

Truth to be told:

There are many people are in nowadays synagogues/temples/churches that are questioning the authorities of their religion leaders silently but are afraid to speak out or leave these places. They are somehow glued to the places of worship because they believed that it is where God resides. They are afraid of what their church leaders would say. They are very much concerned about people’s opinions. Some people who know quite well that their churches are replicas of Satanic demonstrations still procrastinate on leaving these churches. Some are still forcing themselves to attend church every Saturday or Sunday. Some are giving several excuses like there are no better churches out there; nobody is perfect; they can continue to manage the church leaders; they occupy important position(s) in the church; they do not know what their fellow members in church would think of them. Some are dying in silence because of the fear of being cursed by their pastors/bishop etc. if they leave or make attempt to leave the church. God does not live in the church. He lives in us because we are his temple (1 Corinthians 3:16).

Fear is keeping many people in the congregation of darkness while their hearts keep crying to get out of this unnecessary bondage. It can be inferred from Paul’s epistles in 1 Corinthians 2:2 that he only cares about Christ and him being crucified. Most churches have become social party; merchandizing and places of unhealthy competitions. Some are being attacked spiritually in the church while the church keeps showing them fake love. Their spiritual eyes have become blind just like the Jew religion leaders who had problem with Yeshua for being identified as Christ by anyone from their congregation!

Once again, the parents of the former blindman were afraid of being expelled from the synagogue. However, the former blindman was not. I believe you would like to know how this issue heats up more in the next week’s blog.

I hope this week’s blog makes you ponder seriously about your spiritual life.

I also pray that you understand that Yeshua is not about people’s opinions but about up and close relationship with him. Do you think if Yeshua truly cares about these religion leaders, he would not have personally brought him to these Jew religion leaders? He did not care about religion but for you to know him personally.

Grace and Peace!

  1. Yahweh be praised! He is not a religious. He did not start religion. People created religion(s) for him. He will soon destroy religions because he never asked for any in the first place.
