The Blind man's
controversy (part 2)

John 10: 4-9:
Time is priceless:
At
the heel of Yeshua’s intervention to clarify the issues with the blind man, he
went to work. He simply points out the importance of time consciousness. He had
to work when the time was available. He further let us know the importance of
time and season (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8). He simply rubbed the eyes of this blind
man with the mud which he spitted on. I believe he could have told the man to
receive his sight right away or simply lay his hand on the face of the man to receive his sight
among many other ways to perform this miracle.
The
significance of mud:
Yeshua
could have healed this man in many different ways but he chose to go back to how
humans were formed initially. Humans are formed from soil (Genesis 2:7). Dark/hue soil. The blind
man needed a recreation from the sight part. So, Yeshua showed us that through him,
all things were made including humans (John 1:3). However, this man received
both physical and spiritual sight. You will find out in the next week’s blog.
Was
this a half-way miracle?
I
was wondering why Yeshua would put mud on this man’s face and asked him to go
and wash at a pool of Siloam. If it were today’s generation, this blind man
would have questioned him why was Yeshua helping him a half-way. He could have
walked him to the pool of Siloam or may be asked one of his followers to walk
him to this pool to wash his face and receive his sight. However, this blind
man did not question the instruction of Yeshua. He simply went to the pool all
by himself, washes off the mud on his eyes and received his sight. What a faith
in demonstration!
Faith
is priceless:
What
I saw in this bible context was the faith in demonstration. Yeshua knows the
level of this man’s faith. He knew this man would not doubt his instructions.
This man believed that it was his time to receive his miracle. Faith is given
to us by Yahweh. It is one of the Spiritual fruits (Galatians 5:22). This man
believed that Yeshua would not lie. His approach to healing him should not be
questioned. He just trusted and obeyed. No wonder, Paul tells us in Hebrew 11:1
that faith is an assumption of what is being expected, a conviction concerning
matters which are not being observed. He further states that apart from faith
it is impossible to be well pleasing (i.e. pleasing God), for he who is
coming to God must believe that He is, and is becoming a rewarder of those who
are seeking Him out. So, you see faith in demonstration? First of all, once
Yahweh gives you the faith to do certain thing, you would realize that the
miracle you received is not because you have earned it but it was totally God’s
intervention who has worked through you to do his will (Philippians 2:13). Sometimes, you may not understand why you are taking a step to obey God's instructions but you just find yourself doing it. This action does not agree with your flesh and blood but with the Spirit of God operating through you!
Story
changed:
Once
this blind man followed the instructions of Yeshua, he was able to see and
observe things around him. His long-awaited miracle had happened. Just imagine
how this man would feel for a few minutes. He would not only be able to hear
things around him but to see them with his own eyes! People would not need to
tell him what the color of things are but he could see them now. What a great
feeling. So, those who used to perceive him as a blind man would hardly believe
he was able to see with his own eyes. I tell you; it was a great turnaround for
this man. I pray that Yeshua does the same for everyone that has been waiting
on God for an intervention. Amen. This man had never met with Yeshua before, so
he did not know who he was. Remember that he was only able to hear his voice
because he was formerly blind. So, people around him saw a mysterious thing
about this man. This man was freed from begging for money on the street. His story has changed indeed. The next thing his beholders did was to take him to the Pharisees.
Why? Was there no reason?
Is
this the end of the story?
No.
Not at all. Last week, you were informed that this man had to fulfil the plan
God had for him just like Moses, a man who was unable to speak eloquently in the book of Exodus. So, taking this man to the Pharisees is where the reason
this man was born was manifested.
I
hope you would be looking forward to read the next week blog as well.

God is good! May he intervene into your life as he did to this formerly blind man. Amen.
