This right hand robber actually understood what many bible readers did not realize about Christ's work of salvation. However, not taking good cognizance of the importance of comma sign in this scripture verse could make this wonderful conversation goes bad...

How punctuation marks changed the truth about resurrection from death

Bible Texts (Concordant Version of the Old Testament and Concordant Literal New Testament with keywords Concordance-CLNT (Luke 23:42-43; Revelation 2:7)

And he said to Jesus (Yeshua), "be reminded of me, Lord, whenever Thou mayest be coming in Thy kingdom. "And Jesus (Yeshua) sad to him, "Verily, to you, to you am I saying TODAY, with Me shall you be in paradise." Luke 23:42-43

"...To the one who is conquering, to him will I be granting to be eating of the log of life which is in the center of the paradise of God." Revelation 2:7.

Do you know that sometimes we read the scriptures and hardly take cognizance of their punctuation marks? Inaccurate/bias interpretations of the scriptures from the original source(s) have also made some vital punctuation marks fell into the cracks. So, we just take the scriptures as we have seen them. This is why we do not get the accurate information from the scriptures we read and preach. Please, take a serious look at the word TODAY and comma sign after it. This punctuation mark changes the whole story from what many bible preachers may have concluded on this scripture.

My choice of scripture is not perfect but it provides more detailed and accurate interpretations for people to know where the punctuation marks supposed to be just as they are on the original texts from the scrolls i.e.  Hebrew (Old Testament) and Greek (New Testament).  I like to discuss one of the examples to you this week.

Ø    According to Luke 23:42-43, the right hand robber requested Yeshua to remember him when he begins his kingdom. This is an implication that the robber had heard of the messages of Yeshua prior his crucifixion.

Ø    The robber also understood that the kingdom Yeshua talked about was not at the time he was talking with Yeshua. He knew that it would be in the future. Therefore, he was not expecting the kingdom to begin after Yeshua died. It would be in the appointed time by his father, Yahweh. See I Corinthians 15:21-26.

Ø    Yeshua's response has been misunderstood by many scripture readers. Yeshua was referring to this particular man while they were on the crucifixion tree based on right hand robber's request.

Ø    Yeshua assured the robber that on that day (i.e TODAY according to the scripture verse), he would consider the request the robber had made. He did not mean that the robber would go into paradise after he died immediately. This is where many bible preachers miss it. Yeshua made a futuristic promise to the right hand robber. This promise has not been fulfilled. It will be fulfilled in the kingdom of Yeshua.

Ø     According to Revelation 2:7, Yeshua stated that he would give the fruit of life which is located in the center of paradise to whoever conquers. This is also futuristic. Not now. It has not occurred. It is not yet time for Yeshua's kingdom to begin.

Ø     Do not forget that Ecclesiastes 9:5 admonished us that those that die are sleeping. So, the right hand robber is still sleeping. He is not yet in paradise. Therefore, those who think their loved ones are in paradise should understand that this is not true. They are all sleeping to be awakening on the day of snatch away or white throne judgments. Those who profess dreams about seeing someone in the Paradise should understand that it is not real. Dreams/visions will not alter the scriptures.

You can now see that a comma sign changes the whole thoughts and ideas on Luke 23:43. I can as well tell you TODAY, you will know the truth. It does not mean you will know the truth today but today, you have been assured that you will know the truth. This is a statement of assurance meant for future. I hope you have understood my point.

People may be reading this scripture verse but not knowing that this comma makes a huge difference! I hope this week's blog has been a blessing to you.
