No Condemnation (Part 2)
Bible
Texts (Concordant Version of the Old Testament and Concordant Literal New
Testament with keywords Concordance (Romans 8:1-4)
"Nothing, consequently, is now
condemnation to those in Christ Jesus. Not according to flesh are they
walking, but according to spirit, for the spirit's law of life in
Christ Jesus frees you from the law of sin and death. For what
was impossible to the law, in which it was infirm through the flesh, did God,
sending his Son in the likeness of sin's flesh and concerning sin, He
condemns sin in the flesh, that just requirement of the law may be
fulfilled in us who are not walking in accord with flesh, but in accord with
spirit".
This week's podcast will still centers on Romans 8:1-4. You are about to learn why it is impossible for people to be sinless despite the fact that they claim they are born a new.
You may be wondering where this lesson was coming from. Do not think too deep yet. You are about to see why all dots are connected in this week in brief.
It is sad news that laws disappoint its goal. Why do armed bandits keep increasing despite law enforcements? Why do people keep praying for their nation's well being but poverty keep increasing?
What do you think the goal of laws is?
A little peep at Romans chapter 7 reveals the relationship between laws and sins. After all, where there is no law; there is no sin.
It can be inferred from Romans chapter 7 that law exposes sin. For an example, Romans 7:7 points to us that law are not sinful but laws reveal sin. If coveting is not known to you as a sin but you coveted, would it be counted to you as a sin? Probably, not. What if it is promulgated that you should not covet but you did, would it not be counted to you as a sin? Definitely, yes. Therefore, laws fail what it is primarily meant for. It is meant to curb sins and control people's appetites for committing sins.
Have you ever wondered why laws keep increasing; crimes keep increasing? What has happened to the law agencies? What has happened to the places of worship? Have they stopped broadcasting laws from their scriptures? Why do we have more crimes in places of worship than outside of the places? Something must be going wrong. Yes, you are very correct! So, now, you can agree with me that laws have failed its test. Laws cannot do the job quite well. Have you ever asked yourself why the children of Israel were taken to the lands of captive despite the fact that they were given Ten Commandments? These people were the least you would expect to struggle with laws, especially the laws from the maker of Heavens and Earth!
I will tell you why these struggles have come to stay in the lives of many people. Most people do not see sins from the lens of Christ but from the lens of flesh. Most people irrespective of their religion backgrounds or otherwise have been captured by the horror of sins. They have been encapsulated by the consequences of sinning. This is why most people keep struggling with sins. So, you can agree with me that sinners calling out sinners to say sinners' prayers in places of worship are a sinisterly sinning. The outcome of Romans chapter 7 brings-in chapter 8:1-4. For proper discussion of this passage, I will break them and re-arrange them for you.
Nothing, consequently, is now condemnation to those in Christ Jesus: This is ranked as #4
Not according to flesh are they walking, but according to spirit, for the spirit's law of life in Christ Jesus frees you from the law of sin and death. This is ranked as #3

He condemns sin in the flesh, that just requirement of the law may be fulfilled in us who are not walking in accord with flesh, but in accord with spirit". This is ranked as #2.
It appears the scriptures have been turned upside down. You are correct but, this is for analysis purpose only. Remember, this passage is broken down for you to see each step of why laws and sins are not potent. Struggling with sins is a chore but life through Christ Yeshua, makes us live without fearing the sledge hammers of laws or the webs of sins. The spirit's law of Yeshua enables us to live above terror of sins and laws. We treat sins as if they do not have power over us and laws do not dictate our relationship with Yeshua and his father, Yahweh.
Lastly, the things you covet might be attracted to you. We as the members of the body of Christ do not covet the fear of laws and the weight of sins but bask in the freedom through Christ's accomplished work of our salvation on the crucifixion tree.
By this time, you may want to know more right? Of course, I will explain more on Romans chapter 8:1-4 in the next blog. Oh, by the way, have you ever asked yourself why Adam and Eve were given commandment in Genesis chapter 2? Was there not a reason? Think about it.
